A New Ecology

My experiences with teaching English, using technology and living in Honduras.

Life and Travel

The images below are from our “teacher week” in Guate and Belize. We traveled along the east/north coasts of Honduras to Rio Dulce by bus and boat. Monday was Independence day, so we got to watch the school parades in every town. In Rio Dulce we relaxed in hot springs and swam into Mayan caves (aka the underworld). In Guate we went to the ruins at Tikal and learned more about the Mayans. We climbed up a temple (to speak with the gods about our experience in the underworld) that was featured in a Star Wars film.

Below are some images from the first two weeks in Hondulandia:

“Jardines del Valle” – This is where I live – with 7 other teachers from EIS. Every morning we wait for 5 to 50 minutes for the bus to take us to school. It is our lesson in Honduran time.

Delicous and challenging. This was our dinner on the beach in Tela, Honduras.

Crab soup is a delicious challenge!

My feet in the sand

One of our first outings. Faces here are from NC, WI, CA, MO, PA and IL...before we met our Canadian friends.
